Trucking schools are well positioned to produce competent truck drivers. Each of these educational facilities provides an accredited drivers' training, that results in Commercial Drivers License (CDL) being issued at the end of the course.
Choosing which trucking school to attend will depend on the student's ability to attend it on a full time basis, or part time, if employed already. Also, the cost needs to be considered, with some private truck driving schools charging almost twice, of what the vocational college does.

Not everyone has to go to one of the trucking schools run by the private business.
I've attended a college in Miami, and was offered a CDL course. After 6 months of attendance, and virtually no expenses, I'm a fully qualified truck driver.
The only problem was, that the semis we were using in the training, were quite old - a couple of Macks were more than 25 y.o. But, it doesn't matter. You still have plenty of on-road diving, and good instructors.
