Trucking jobs pay well, both for short-range local driving and for long interstate routes. But, working abroad in Iraq will make your pay check really big. Truck driving jobs are in great demand and sought by qualified CDL drivers. Other option is to get a credit from your bank, and buy a rig. It can cost you more than $3000,000 for a decent semitrailer. But, then you're working for yourself, when you onw your truck, and repaying the credit shouldn't be too difficult.

I was doing some trucking jobs after leaving the high school. It paid well ($12/hour) and all driving was local, no further than 30 miles from San Antonio Tx, where I lived then. My only problem was with the truck's reliability. It was breaking down every second day. What I hear now, the same position pays the trucker $18/hour. Good money, by my standards.
